hi people,
i have decided to give away my old computers (3.11) they still work great that is why i am giving them away. anyway there were some great games and other programs that i would like to use ion my new computer(xp). i was wondering if anyone knew how to convert the exe. files so that they can work on my new computer. if you know how please help me out. thanks for reading this.

Well, you can´t convert the exe, you could put the programs in the system32-folder and try to start them via command line, but the chances that it works are very low.
Best is to use an emulator, you can get DOSbox, a really nice (and free) one here:
