Anyone gotten their miners?

Post by ayu »

Has anyone ordered an ASIC-miner and gotten it yet?
I still haven't gotten mine, and I'm thinking about pulling out, since I could have more fun with that money.
Or is it still worth the wait?

I was thinking about ordering one but decided not to, and I think mab pulled out a while ago already because it took so damn long.
I don't know buddy, but imo those "delivery problems" have passed the line to ludicrousness already, they definitely have made enough money already to easily go into mass production and deliver right away, and when they don't this is only a sign for being totally unorganized and unprofessional.
you should ask for explicit information about the delivery status and if they get all evasive again or don't even reply: pull out.

I heard Avalon is preparing for mass refunds, supposedly they cannot guarantee to fulfill all of the orders and with the rising difficulty they have said it may be best to get a refund.

Got my miner today.
The power unit exploded and was set on fire on the first run ... so it is currently sitting comfortably in our bathtub, filled with water :).

The miner itself "seems" to run, although I haven't been able to get it to mine yet.
Setting it up is a bitch, and I had to connect it to my computers PSU to give it enough juice.

I'll take some pictures and post later.

At the moment I'm not very satisfied (on top of all this crap, I had to pay $300 to get the package out from the post office, since they added a "tax" on it without telling me (my government adds it, not the company that made the miner)).

Anyway, I'll report back later with more info.

ouch. one should expect that it has some kind of feature to make it adjust to the available power output...would be quite simple to implement and no witchery or even expensive. :-s

oh well, I hope you get it running properly soon, and I am looking forward to see some footage!

and wow, 300 bucks? how's the fee based over there? here it is 19% taxes when the item is worth more than 50 bucks... :-k

I checked it with a friend, and he says it's 25% over $26 or so.

Managed to get the little bastard running now, and I'll write a blog post with all the details, pictures and so on later today.
But for now, can you guys help me to understand the output of bfgminer?
bfgminer version 3.2.1 - Started: [2013-10-05 11:18:02] - [ 0 days 00:01:40]
[M]anage devices [P]ool management ettings [D]isplay options [H]elp [Q]uit
Connected to 127.0.0.1 diff 149M without LP as user cats
Block: ...a19e5893fe48c2fb Diff:149M ( 1.07Ph/s) Started: [11:18:01]

OCL 0: | OFF /17.92/ 0.00Mh/s | A:0 R:0+0(none) HW: 0/none
BFL 0: 73.0C | 58.75/57.25/ 0.00Gh/s | A:0 R:0+0(none) HW:31/2.3%
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The machine is running, and making loads of noise, as expected.
But the line "58.75/57.25/ 0.00Gh/s" is what I currently don't understand.
It says 58.75/57.25 (varying), which seems logical since it's a 60 Gh/s unit, but the last part worries me.
Why does it say 0.00Gh/s there I wonder?

sweet...thanks for sharing....:D

about the noise level....get some nice Noctua or Noiseblocker fans and it will be MUCH more silent (without a loss in the cooling performance)...would be definitely worth the extra 30-40 bucks...
