Setting up an Online Business - PT4 Plugins

Post by computathug »

Now that you have purchased your theme the next step is to install the plugins needed to make it function. Most themes have all the plugins needed ready to be installed when the theme is installed. Today we are focusing on other plugins that we need to help with other features such as speeding the website or social media and SEO.
  • Site Kit - Google Analytics/Search Console
  • Facebook Pixel - Used for target audience information gathering
  • Yoast - Meta Titles and Descriptions
  • AMP - Accelerated Mobile Pages
  • Schema and Structured Data for WP - Rich Snippets
  • Redirection - Redirects od URL's
  • Autoptimize - Optimize CSS

There's only really one answer to that, 'Speed' and is aimed at people using mobile phone connections. AMP is not a replacement!.
Another client asked the same question around a week ago. Here are a couple of pages for everyone to look at if they want to understand why we need it. The main factor here is that Google is not a one size fits all solution. If you are on page one for a search term doesn't mean you will be number one when searched on a mobile. Each service is different and works from different factors.

thanks for the explanation buddy.....had to read a little more first to really get it..
I always thought it's simply a WP plugin that manipulates the design, I had no idea it's a full blown dev framework... :o

Well, yes, you can manipulate the design on each page but i just use the default settings and make sure it is accessible on all pages, posts and products (they dont pay me to do any of that lol). But then again i sometimes leave the homepage. It all depends on the theme.

So yeah, in simple terms it gets rid of the bloat and serves a cached version which is obviously faster. I think it was actually developed towards helping more in developing countries where fast internet isn't always an option.
