The business of OSint got pretty popular after Snowden released to the public about NSA's data collection and query services. Any hacker would have told you that data collection has been around since logs. Certainly the ability to query data sets and collect more data to query has improved over the years. Also with people using mobile technology and social 'networks' - more things can collect data.

Data is two things - money - people, businesses and even law enforcement will pay for information.
Data is also power - the more you know about people, places, or things, you can have the ability to out maneuver or manipulate them.

To a hacker, data is mostly bits and bytes. We do not monitor people or places, it is just an ability we have that we can sell. We are not spies or snitches, we are librarians of human behavior.

Not all data is of equal value. Most people will die disappointed - they will never be a part of history. They were only a number, a statistic. NSA might be able to collect every email ever sent in the entire WWW - but they know, and we know - most of that email is shit. From nobodies, talking about nothing.

Data is mined.

Like minerals that are dug up in the vast dirt fields of the world - only some minerals will be valuable - they have to have weight and value to someone else.
Data, like minerals have to be graded for quality, locations have to be tested for worthwhile future digs. The miner becomes familiar in recognizing valuable minerals with experience. The miner learns what signs to look for, he develops tools to quickly extract the valuables, without leaving trace.

All these tools you posted, what is missing is all the research and studies into human behavior on social networks, understanding human behavior on the internet, and the methods and operations of cybercriminals. Some are posted in the DNR's Suggested Readings

The law enforcement affidavits spell out the elements of the case, the overt/covert actions of the suspects, and how they were caught. So I read many of these related to cybercrime.

downloaded them to read and noticed the broken ones but now that u mentionned them will be waiting for them, I also wanted to mention the economic cyber spying, many companies are paying hackers to bring infos on other companies which support what you said: information = power .For the part saying knowing about people readings will be great but its also related to the person and what did he live, it depends on the way he thinks and on the way he understands people from their words and from the way they react to such situation ( no show off or anything but I think I have this thing, expecting how people will react in such situations and their different ways of reacting, not judging people but sometimes it s clear to me what kind of person this one is and I don t remember I was mistaken yet )
