Eh...think of the skiddies as mosquitos.
A nuisance, nothing more. Sometimes skiddies can do more than deface webpages...which is why Admins should be smart enough to make regular back-ups.
It's the responsibility of a webmaster to learn about security threats and to protect their site. In a way, skiddies can be a simple reminder to take more secure measures for a site. I haven't had to actually protect a site from skiddies before, so forgive me for calling them a "simple nuisance" ...I know they can be alot more annoying and sometimes damaging than a "simple nuisance".

This, however, gives me an idea. A game called "catch the hacker" maybe. I usually don't share ideas, but..well..it's just an idea, anyway.
Maybe a box could be setup in such a way where we could give someone limited root over the box(remotely, of course) and then we could attack the server and see how well they do protecting the box against us.
Could be fun. I wouldn't even know how possible this would be..but..it's an idea.
