WEP Cracking

Ok heres the deal, I am running Windows Vista and a Artheos AR5006EG Network Card.

I have tried many different drivers and I have been trying to use aircrack. But with no success, does anyone have any idea where I can either get a compatible driver for my wireless card? Or know of any programs that would run with the standard driver on Vista?

If its hardware issues Linux has lots of compatiablity and its software is way much better. Plus, its normal requirements are much less then Vista. Just partion your drive for a Linux distro, or even use a bootable cd such as Knoppix to use something like Airsnort.

how can you connect to a wireless device like a ADSL modem if you know the WEP key but the device you want to connect to is NOT in association mode ??

might be possible by manufacturer/model specific flaws....like vulnerabilities against arp-floods or things like that. best look on packetstormsecurity.com or securityfocus.com...

Its a WEP cracking program for Linux. Knoppix is a live cd with the program on it.

Nope. But Knoppix is a live cd, so you can just boot it off of your windows without any installation. Just burn the cd, put it into your drive, and restart your computer, pick boot off of cd, then you can pick the application you want. In this case, AirSnort. The closest thing to AirSnort for Windows is Cain and Abel.

just so i know i get it right... Aircrack can get me the WEP key and then i use Airsnort to crack into the wireless network...

i would use Backtrack 2 live CD instead of Knoppix, theres way more apps associated with what your wanting to do...
