120GB's of awesome cracking power.. I needed a way to crack a windows SAM file from one of my old home computers, and did not want to format it because i had important files, like my resume and such i did not want to lose. The rainbow table included with ophcrack only did basic number / letter combos up to 16 chars. I needed something that will get characters like !.(*&@#$^ in it and found this. If your computer is idle all day on irc anyways.. why not Seed! seed seed! This is a good rainbow table and its freeware (I have seen sites chargeing up to like 600$ for a 120GB rainbow table)

I was about to generate perfect MD5 rainbow tables last night, but the benchmark said it'll take 3 years....I definitely need a MUCH faster system...

*smacks self in forehead*

Actully i prefer the second link you gave me, winrtgen is great so far. I should have a 650MB alpha-numberic MD5 table in no time. If you want, you can put it under suck-o member releases section in the download area. Im sure others may want to download it. Plus i will creating alot more in the future.

I have like 20 differnet online hash cracker sites and decryption sites, plus a firefox plugin to decode and encode everything on the fly..

The point of this post was to share/learn how to create rainbow tables to crack with instead of relying on a website or torrent. (and to bring it back on-topic.. to share some knowledge and information with other like minded people) .. i guess it started off with trying to share a 120GB rainbow table with others , then turned into how to create my own rainbow tables.. which i dont regret i will have an awesome table complete tommarow MD5 alphanumeric-650MB

I made my own rainbow tables a while back but they were small and ineffective so i just trashed em. I'll need a much faster computer to generate a functioning table with all letters, numbers, and special characters. Though it'd be easier if i could somehow convince my school to let me use every computer at their disposal (about 40 or so) to each generate multiple tables simultaneously.

How long do you think it would take with 40 computers? (too complete a MD5 functioning table that uses all letter, numbers and special chars, 32 digits PW? Maybe we could make a Suck-o project?.. (I have resources) whoever from the site that wants to contribute can contribute

also.. how large do you think the complete file would be? over 100GB's?

Well after doing some quick math. If the school computers are anywhere near my specs. It should take about 1 month. For a *7* character password... any higher than that and you get into years...so i guess my idea of using the schools computers isn't that great after all. Also the files would be about 600 gigs total. Looks like we'd need a couple hundred military grade computers if we wanted 'perfect' rainbow tables.

hm, Still_Learning (meh, will use SL as abbreviation from now on :P ), alphanumeric isn't really interesting for me, what I wanted to do is a MD5 table with 0.9999 success rate and mixalpha-num-all-space-DG charset, password length 3-10...check how long it would take for you... :-k

right now I am downloading the MD5_MIXALPHA-NUMERIC-SPACE table from http://rainbowtables.ddl.cx/ , size is about 12GB....will take a while, when done I will do some testing and post the result here, the problem when downloading tables is that you never know what success rate it has....

nope, the online version of suck-o is not on my home server, the suck-o network is on multiple rented servers.
I just have a 2MB DSL connection at home, people would be slightly annoyed when having a 28k-like download rate I guess...
