Attempting to bruteforce such a guarded server is stupid for 2 reasons ...
1: You will light their logs like a Christmas tree (it's like kicking on someone's door, eventually they will come out and kick your ass)
2: Bruteforcing is VERY time consuming, and hotmail/passport requires you to have a certain length on your password, and trying to bruteforce these, with all the connection problems and lost packets that you will suffer during the process, it might as well take years (theoretically) to break it.
But, if you still want to play around with it, and I assume you want to ... You can simply login to msn, and monitor your connections, and easily see both the address to the server and the port it is using. You can do this by using tools like netstat, wireshark or tcpview.

msn might have 'secret questions' that you can try to answer as many times as you like. There are only so many correct answers to the questions its hard to not guess..

Basically cats im not doing this coz i want to break into some one's accuont, im experimenting on my self 
so yeah i wanna play around a little 
as for DNR ill work with the secret question thingy, but im more interested in how the application will work, and not if i get the answer right

Lets go over some tips and pointers:
1. Never Port Scan the Suck-o server.
trust me.
2. You can scan other servers on the internet - Port Scanning and Banner grabbing is ok, but when you start running Vulnerability/Exploit Checkers on their servers - you'll risk inviting agressive response from the server admins. This absolutely includes .mil servers.
3. You will eventually need to build your own computer lab - you should learn to set up a desktop, router, and server - and here is where you will actually attempt server exploits.
4. Parcipate in Authorized Wargames, like we host here on Suck-o, or you can find on other sites.
Remember, the Computer Crimes Acts in most countries say "Any attempt to unathorized access to a computer or network, whether sucessful or not, is a 5 year felony" That gives them right enough to at least seize your computer and download all your porn

You got it in one Moudy. Scan the server and you will be sending emails to b_b for your IP to be taken from the banned list
I recommend you also learn about proxies as well if you plan on lighting up the logs of the msn servers.
Even if you are practising on your own network the messages still leave your IP and return from the msn servers before the protocol is returned.
Well i for one and probably a few others here started using booters etc etc years ago on wasted time on yahoo. Its still a point of learning and we all start somewhere.
If this is where your interest lies at the moment then learning vb will be a good start.
