Running .tar.gz files on windows

Post by z3r0aCc3Ss »

Whenever I download such a package, I'm stuck with running that file... Any solution on running .tar.gz files on windows?

Not sure what files you're referring to, but tar.gz files are just archives bundled with tar, and then compressed with gzip. The windows equivalent might be a zip archive.

As for opening tar.gz on windows, I'm fairly certain 7zip should handle the task of opening the archive... as for running the contained program, that depends largely on what the program is, and what it was written to run on.

If for some reason 7zip doesn't do the job, try IZarc: http://www.izarc.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
