Processor speed

When i bought my computer, it was totally wiped, no windows, nothing. I installed my copy of windows, but in System Properties it says the processor is 2.4GHz, when it is a 3.4 GHz processor, where did i lose my 1GHz?!

Humm ive seen it when it was like .2 ghz lower but a not that tremounous amount whats your computers specs

if it's an Athlon 64 3400+ processor you have to pay attention to the fact that AMD is using different algorithms for the frequency than Intel, so an 3400+ has an frequency of 2.4 GHz and not 3.4GHz, in this case everything would be ok...

for an AMD one get AMD CPUID here.
