forgot your Windows password?

Post by bad_brain »

I found a nice little Linux distro that can be used to reset the user passwords on Windows:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/aust ... o?download
don't worry, it's just 50 mb...

after booting from it enter nt_pass at the prompt, the rest is pretty self-explanatory.

enjoy! :)

well, I have no password set, so I couldn't test it until the end (ok, I have to admit I was a little coward too because it's my productive system), but you can change the pass, not only remove it.

ya but when you do this it over writes the hash thus
leaving all crypted data un readable :(

so u could just use dreampackPL it doesnt over write the hash and
its only about 3mb :)

So you can simply replace the hash?! Oh that's good to here. I was going to try doing that because I didn't see why itt wouldn't let you. But i think novel might totally pwn me on my school attempt. The encrypt the hash.
