cleaning up dual boot menu

Post by hackindave »

I installed Vista on a extra hdrive in my computer. So when I re-boot, it asks which OS I want to start.
Vista sucks big time, so I deleted it. But my boot menu keeps popping up. How can I get rid of that?
If I do fdisk MBR, will that clear it or screw my computer up??

Just go into the C drive and find the file boot.ini. Open it up by dragging it into note pad and erase Vistas. Make sure you can view hidden files first. then save it in the same place

you can also try to repair the boot sector by booting from the XP CD, entering the recovery console and using the fixmbr command.... :-k

Yeah, i've used FixMbr before and it works pretty well. So if flood's suggestion doesn't work, try b_b's advice.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It works on my machine...
