how do i disable stretched desktop?

Im trying to run a game but just when its about to get to the menu, the game crashes and a dialog box appears saying that i must disable stretched desktop. i cant find out how to disable it.

its centered, but would it make a difference? i thought that was just for the wallpaper

Yeah well you have Vista or?

(And yes it's only for the wallpaper, but it was worth a shot ^^)

well, I am not using Vista, so I got this info via google and I can't validate it:

Click View > Advanced View > Stretched Desktop.

you should find an option to enable/disable it there....
