Not Connecting to the internet

So I can't connect to the internet on any program except firefox. Tried mirc, msn, aim, vent, chrome, all didn't work. Any idea's on what could be wrong? I disabled my firewall and still nothing.

Replace your default firewall with ZoneAlarm, it's much more efficient. And as bad_brain said, if you are on a router their is a possibility that all ports are blocked except for port 80 which is our friend HTTP that is implemented in Firefox and almost every other webbrowser, but that would'nt explain why IE wouldn't be able to run...

Well I'd try this:
1. Restore point if using windows, or backup if other OS. You might have downloaded malware or made some changes in your network settings. The Restore is just a fast way to fix the problem.
2. Check DNS,Start - run - cmd - ipconfig /all , make sure they have the IP of your router. malware, viruses or even a browser add-on can effect this IP

I prefer Comodo Firewall and AVP over Zone Alarm, thats my two cents.

did you download chrome before this happened? i saw a few exploits for chrome but i dont know if it would pertain to your situation.
