Goodbye Apple laptop... Hello new PC

Post by maboroshi »

I have been using my macbook pro for a month now maybe more. I realize I probably have not given it chance enough. But as a development system it is not good, it is basically a toy.You just can't beat a system with a TaskBar and although there are a few things you can do instead, it just doesn't seem productive to me.

Mind you I was very happy to get my mac and to some people it is great. But I found development (even in photoshop) on it awkward and slow.

My Mom needed a new system so she will get the mac book pro and I have already purchased
AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition Quad Core Processor 3.5GHZ 8MB Socket AM3

Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H50 High Performance CPU Cooler System LGA1155 LGA1366 LGA1156 AM2 AM3

Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 AMD 990X AM3+ ATX DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 M *IR-$2.00*

Kingston ValueRAM KVR1333D3N9K2/4G PC3-10666 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1333 CL9 240PIN DIMM Memory Kit

XFX Radeon HD 6870 900MHZ 1GB 4.2GHZ GDDR5 2XDVI HDMI 2x Mini Display Port PCI-E Video Card

Coolermaster Haf 912 Black Mid Tower ATX Case 4X5.25 1X3.5 6X3.5INT No PS Front USB Sound

XFX 650W PRO650W Core Edition Single Rail ATX 12V 53A 24PIN ATX Power Supply 80PLUS Bronze PSU

Western Digital WD Caviar Blue 1TB SATA 6GB/S 7200RPM 32MB Cache 3.5IN Hard Drive OEM

OCZ Vertex 2 Extended Sandforce 120GB 2.5IN SATA2 Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD

LG CH12LS28 12X Blu-Ray Reader & Lightscribe DVD Writer Combo Drive

LG GH22NS70 Super Multi 22X SATA DVD Writer Black OEM

Syba SY-USB-FDD External USB 1.44MB Floppy Drive

Steelseries Merc Stealth Illuminated Gaming Keyboard
I understand I could of used some old PC components but this system worked out with in my budget so I am happy

Anyway... I really dislike Macs >:)

*cheers

Impressive! How much did it cost you in total, and where did you get it (if it was online)? :D

laptops are cheap, I brought two couple weeks ago when the HDD failed on the Dell Inspiron. So I got two HP G4s. Two UML290s for wifi/broadband. Win 7, up from Vista.

One day I went shopping along came a salesman hopping spreading joy of Macintosh he would shout with glee. I took this mans advice decided to pay the price and I was as happy as a tree frog in a tree… But then suddenly something went wrong this salesman spoke to fast not mentioning a simple task this computer could not perform. Frustrated I began to cry, I spoke "I can not use this mac for a simple task", suddenly an idea came to me. I know, I know I said I will buy a PC and a solution there will be. so i bought this PC now I await for it to arrive so I can complete this task of mine and be happier than a tree frog in a tree.
