after an annoying odyssey of 1 week (for about 150 km) my HP ProLiant 380 arrived today, got is used for just 70 €!

yep, going for Squeeze. 
right now I am trying to update all firmware and the BIOS, found a special CD image for that...with a little luck it adds a basic fan speed control like the G5 model has (mine is a G4).
next on the list: enabling iLo.

found out the server only has a CD drive...and I only have blank DVDs, and I have no USB drive big enough for the firmware/BIOS update image. 
so instead of doing the update today I will buy blank CDs (so 90's!) tomorrow and took some more pics instead...

the guy that sold it had only one, and international shipping would be killer anyway because of the oil tanker-like weight...
if I don't get the fan setting option in BIOS once I have done the updates I will simply solder resistors into the fan power cables and get them from 12 V down to 5 V.
