So I've decided that I can't trust regular commercial broadband/home routers anymore, so I'm going to just make my own simple one.
I don't use many functions in the device anyway, so might as well make it a bit safer.
The problem right now that I'm facing, is that I need to find a computer or a motherboard with 2 network cards/ports that is rather small.
I want something not very much bigger than a normal home router.
I've searched around for home servers and media machines, since they are usually pretty compact, but I couldn't find any with 2 ports.
I found some normal ATX motherboards with 2 ports, but they are too big, and I really want something more compact.
My current thinking is to try to put a regular debian installation on my old router, and then just go from there.
Does anyone know of any other device I could use for this little project?
I'll write a post here and also blog about how I did it later, in case someone wants to do the same thing.

Re: Computer/Motherboard with 2 network cards?
have a look at the Jetway NC9E-525 board, it's a Mini-ITX one and has 2 NICs:
http://www.jetway.com.tw/jw/ipcboard_vi ... e=NC9E-525" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
seen it on Amazon for 160 USD.
there are even expansions (Jetway calls them "daughterboards") where you can add nifty things like 4 more NICs.

ah sweet, even better! :O
Do you have some sort of search criteria on how to find theses type of boards?
I can't find any that can be bought in Sweden so far.
Not a problem with ordering from another country, just easier if there's a reseller here

Re: Computer/Motherboard with 2 network cards?
I simply query for "mini itx", the latter one showed up (on amazon) when searching for "jetway" though....kinda hard to define the multiple NICs in the search without getting a lot of unrelated additional results, so I simply check the product pics instead...
