cmos trouble

well i had this prob for a while now: every time i boot into windows it says disk boot failure i have to reset the cmos nearly every time to get it to boot :evil: any ideas :?: ?

the os is vista ultimate

hm, was the system working properly with Vista before? installed any new hardware?

Replace the mainboard battery. It might be dead and this may explain why you have to reset it every time.

Is it a laptop? If it is then I fell more comfortable thinking it is the mainboard battery that needs to be replaced.

If it is a desktop then I am not as sure that replacing it will help.

I don’t know but might be worth a shot.

I'll have to agree with FH..it's most likely the battery.
If it's been happening for a while, then it's probably been the battery dying.

I would change it..and if it doesn't work, then you have a spare for later.

everything was working fine, now i am just gona replace the battery and ye its a desktop
