cpu :AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+
motherboard : Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe nforcen570 series
ram : kingston 2GB 800Mhz DDR2
gfx : Geforce 6600V 512mb
will my power supply be able to take any of the gfx's?

hm, usually I like ATI cards more, but most games are better supported by nvidia ones (simply because most game developers work together with nvidia).
which of the nvidia ones to take is hard to say, I doubt there are remarkable differences in the performance, so it's best to check the reviews for the most silent one...
and yeah, I guess 400 W are enough because AMD CPUs are not that hungry as Intel ones, but in the long run you will have to upgrade anyway...

AMD chipsets kick FUCKING ASS! What he meant by 'you'll have to upgrade anyway' was your PSU the power supply unit, you forgot to list your drives like a DVD/CD-RW drive, USB devices you might get, etc. 400w is basic, cheap charlie
