freezing RAM modules O_o

Post by bad_brain »

I was checking for different computer forensic techniques, one method to get a grip on intruders is to dump the data stored in RAM to an USB stick for example...the only problem is that if the intruder is very skilled he will notice it and so he can cover his tracks.
but I found an amazing video which shows how to freeze the data in a RAM module...I mean REALLY freeze it:

enjoy...

Nice post B_B. Theres always quite a bit on the news about laptops being stolen with sensitive information. I remember when the was some laptop stolen here which had details of spy's working undercover and there was a security alert. What that information could have done if placed in the wrong hands. There was another case with peoples national security details stolen out of a car. These people should have no authority of handling such information without the correct training as it just goes to show nothing is safe in the wrong hands!

Anyone want to buy a ex government laptop?
