Re: system show off thread
yeah, nice one... are those hot swap HDD frames?
the only thing I would do is to organize the cables a little, looks better, better for maintenance and for the airflow...
btw, I felt free to edit your post and to use our own image host..

Re: system show off thread
They're supposed to be designed for quick replacement of raid disks, but. I would still have to take off the back cover to get to the cables. But yeah, the whole case is suppossed to be screwless, I do have one screw in each of my 5.25 bay items though. Wobbles otherwise. Recently added a usb 3.0 pcie card and two usb 3.0 hubs, one front and one back. I only have one usb 3.0 device so far, but I plan to change that. But it's 5 1 tb hdds in raid 5, 2 volumes over 3-4 partitions. 1 os partition, 2 storage partitions, and I think that 100 mb partition 7 makes now. the OS partition is only like 350 gbs.bad_brain wrote:yeah, nice one... are those hot swap HDD frames?

P.s. How dare you edit my post. Just kidding, thanks. I would have used the suck-o image host but you can only upload one at a time. And I'm lazy.

Re: system show off thread
Yeah, even having a job now I still like to glue my stuff back together rather than buy new stuff. More money for stuff I really want/need. And even then I tend to buy used and fix it up for cheap. Someday I'll have to get energetic and take pictures of my other computers and post them up, the ones literally held together by duct tape.lilrofl wrote:I love my dumpster router, it's served me well for over a decade

Re: system show off thread
time for a little update about my setup...
the workplace
may I introduce? Mr. Blue, the main system, on the left, and on the right Mr. Red the home server (case illumination and network cables in matching colors ^^)
TV with 2x1.5TB externals and WD media player, all networked with the main system (watching Giro d' Italia on TV at the moment ^^).
here the externals and the media player with the 8 port hub, doing some file transfers to the encrypted DMZ'd external at the moment, that's why the cables are a bit disorganized. ^^
workplace from my normal POV
inside of Mr. Blue (note to myself: finally remove that damn wire in front of the CPU fan, lazy bum!)

Re: system show off thread
you can bet I am VERY cautious! I am using clay pebbles instead of soil though, so I only have to fill the saucers with water and the plants can suck it up from there....adding water from the top would be too risky.
and yeah...the killer bunny...it guards my system from malware and skiddies when I am away..XD
nice setup you have there too buddy, really well organized...I like that.
how's the mining going btw?
