hm, it´s either a scheduled task on the local box or it´s a remote shutdown by the admin´s box. you could run Ethereal and capture all packets, this would enable you to identify the remote shutdown sent by the admin´s box. afterwards you could try to setup a firewall rule to block these packets. but it could also be caused by the ISP itself, in this case you can´t do anything about it.

heres some infor about ethereal..
Ethereal is used by network professionals around the world for troubleshooting, analysis, software and protocol development, and education. It has all of the standard features you would expect in a protocol analyzer, and several features not seen in any other product. Its open source license allows talented experts in the networking community to add enhancements. It runs on all popular computing platforms, including Unix, Linux, and Windows.

-In grater common sence Linux is better than MS Windows-

-Never try to hack platform, instead of that, only make security and teach other to do that to-

I think you mean "ist nicht so gut." "Bin" is am. "Ist" is "is."

Speaking of learning German. This CD thing my dad got was by some Language Professor named Pimsleur (sp?) and he picked it up from Barnes & Noble, so if you live in the US (I think B&N is only a US thing, don't know, but check the 'Net) or they can ship search for Pimsleur because German language spoken has some pronunciation that the English language doesn't have. It's better to hear it from a native and try to speak like a German than sound like an obvious American tourist especially when visiting Germany.

Reason: It shows you have respect and/or interest in their culture.
