confusion anyone?
okay. so this is really really noobish. but i figured i should put it into noob rahter than hardware. okay. so im looking at those quad core proccessors. they run in 64 bit. so what does that mean as far as the other things that i will need in 64 bit??? (OS, motherboard, chipset, drivers, etc) i would really apreciate anything you know on this topic. just post it all!!! pleas and thank you.
Nothing else, except a motherboard that supports the 64-bit quad core processor you have, and eventually a 64-bit operating system. Do not, however, get the 64-bit version of Windows XP because it's given me lots of trouble. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Also, just in case you didn't know, you don't necesarily need a 64-bit operating system if you have a 64-bit processor. You could use the typical 32-bit version without a problem. It's just going to keep the higher 32-bits of the registers bored.
