8e6 Technologies Firewall.

Post by Stavros »

Does anyone have any links to sites about exploits or loopholes around this firewall? I ask because a good friend of mine wants to visit their xanga site and we keep getting an "URL Blocked" message. I've tried using Firefox and Opera: no good. I pinged the site and entered the IP address in the address bar and I get a "Page not found" error. I've tried Google-ing the address and viewing via "Cache" option on Google. All to no avail.

Oh yea, they're using the 8e6 Technologies R3000 Internet filter. As far as I can tell it's pretty damn solid.

but don´t focus too much on the firewall, get as much information (available services, etc.) as you can...

You mean like what's running on the computer? Would a Hijack This! log suffice?

no, I meant the services which are available to the outside. I mean, it´s a server, so there must be some services provided to the users. maybe one of these services is exploitable. so do the usual information gathering stuff like portscan (best with nmap).
