wanna learn

Post by 2ndclasscitizen »

just wanna know some good books to start programming. Preferd codes would be html java and c++. Asembler would be nice also but i guess im far to stupid for that.
i don't want the ones with much text. I need it very practical with out the site long talking about the authors thoughts thing. Just what it does and how it's done. I'm not very patient which you might already noticed.

Good Books

Post by maboroshi »

Well the best Book for learning HTML Visually would be Visual Quickstart guide to HTML

If you mean Ebooks for these languages

HTML

I would suggest starting at W3C Schools http://www.w3schools.com/ for a good introduction Tutorial

For Java

I would suggest Core Java 2 - Volume I - Fundamentals it will give you a solid Foundation in Java and Programming in General In fact Im reading it write now to brush up on my Java skills

at http://e-books.amagrammer.net/Java/

C++ I would suggest Essential C++ You can find that in Downloads >> Text Files >> C++

Be prepared for a lot of reading

Programming is a very difficult topic to learn

I would suggest starting with HTML then furthering your knowledge with C++ or Java then pursuing Assembly once you have a solid foundation in Programming

If you find these languages a bit daunting at first don't be discouraged just keep reading and read again and again

Anyway thats my two cents

Cheers

Maboroshi

I second what Maboroshi said. I definitely reccommend starting with HTML if you have absolutely no previous experience, but that's just to learn the very basic of how to program. After you are comfortable with HTML I would do what Maboroshi said and go after Java or C++.

Speaking of HTML tutorials, are there any decent HTML tuts in the download section?

yeah, I can really recommend the HTML 4.01 Specification in the textfile-downloads, it´s very good for beginners too, and the browsable HTML-format makes it also a good desktop reference....
