On windows xp it was fine i never get disconnected but when i am on linux (ubuntu) i get dc's often like evry 15 mins and thats realy annoying. My modem model is :Zite zxdsl 831 Series. Maybe i miss configurated something i have no idea.
Ifconfig output:
It seems like you have two cards, is one wireless and one wired?
More info!
It could be that the two cards active are having some issues deciding which one that should be used....i have had a similar problem and i turned my wireless off to solve it.
No its not wireless.I have configurated my net using pppoe command it asked me isp and password then it did evrything automaticly. Modem is connected through lan card.
You must have two different pieces of hardware which is used to connect with a network. Eth0 and Eth1 are both configured, and both have two different MAC Address's.
I could configure it to act like a gateway but i cant eneter modem configs. Trying enter via this ip http://192.168.1.1 but its loading and loading and loading... nothing happens
Perhaps your ISP has modded the firmware in which case try alternative defaults, such as: 192.168.1.2/192.168.1.0/192.168.2.1 ..etc Or search your ISP for your router brand and see if they have any help files on it.
hm, you've said the router config web iface is loading and loading.....I've seen the same problem on a customer's box a while ago, it was caused by the cable between PC and router....try it with a different one...
best get a cat.6 cable (especially if you need a long one)...it's just slightly more expensive than the regular cat.5 ones and provides a better shielding.
the official specifications even say that for lengths of more than 5 meters cat.6 cables have to be used.
