Locked Laptop hdd

Hi,
Does anybody know the best way to unlock a Serial ATA hdd. I can pull it out and attached USB from ATA and when i do attach it wont detect . The drive is a hitachi ata 7200rpm 60gb . Anybody with ideas to bypass or erase the lock is appreciated. thks

go to your control panel.

There should be something called computer management

this should open up a browser, and you should find disk management.

from there on out find your external hdd, and you probably need to format the hdd to make it accepted.

(assuming you use XP):
start->run->diskmgmt.msc
you should see the drive there...rightclick->activate

so hard to give people advice if you are on a pc that is @ work, so you are locked out of certain locations XD :P

for the royal salary I am getting with this job, I wont break the rules ;).

I can do whatever the fuck I want at work. I watched 8 movies last week while being @ work. so you wont here me complain except about the boredom :P.
