International Unit Multiples and Submultiples

Post by eppik »

By now your probably wondering, WTF are Multiples and submultiples? (cheers if your not, means you paid attention while in school :P )

Let me give you an example

Submultiple Unit Multiple
Milimeter Meter Kilometer

Get the Point?

So here is the currently internationally acepted table for this:

from smallest to largest:

deca
hecto
kilo
mega
giga
tera
peta
exa
zetta
yotta

So now TeraBytes are the new trend for noobs, i hear every(noob) say "OMFGDZ i jUzT sAw a Frkn aWs0mE LAN PARTY wHeRe dudz sHaRed 100 terabytes!! OMFGDZ2
(My appologies for this traumatizing sentence)

Everyone loves lots of disc space, but noone actually talks like someone invented the freakin wheell.

1 Yottabyte = 1.000 zettabytes = 1.000.000 exabytes = 1.000.000.000 petabytes = 1.000.000.000.000 TeraBytes = 1.000.000.000.000.000 GigaBytes = 1.000.000.000.000.000.000 Megabytes = 1.000.000.000.000.000.000.000 KiloBytes = 1.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000 Bytes = 8.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000 (byte is 8 bits right? )

Cheers, lets hope we reach the YottaByte soon

Enjoy :)

Give a man a fish, you feed him for one day.
Learn a man to fish, you feed him for life.
