Post by str33tl0rd »

hello

wondering if there is a program that will scan for wireless routers around and give their ip adresss ( i mean the 192.168.xxx.xxx) and maybe further information about the routers?

thanx.

short and sweet I guess thats cats.

But let me explain a bit more. There are several tools you'll want to get to know : ex.Kismet, Wireshark, Ettercap, Airodump, Aireplay, Netstumbler, AiroPeek, OmniPeek, Cain, Ethereal

Netstumbler is a locating tool, it will help locate and identify wifi signals - peer-to-peer, or an Access Point (AP), it can tell you if the signals are WEP'ed -requiring a login or unsecured - meaning you can hop on the AP or connect to a peer.
