cracking salted MD5 hash

Who or what ussually uses salted md5's? is that pretty normal now or would only high security sites use this such as banks , ect..?

It can be coded by any reasonable coder, some are easy to figure out simply adding two chars, some are more random and created per user.

Not just banks but any e-commerce site can use this.

ive seen a few salted md5's in my time,and they arent uncommon SL


the one i hate is sha1

i only know 1 online cracker for sha1

and due to lack of space on this comp and other shit,i dont bother with sha1 cracking

salted hashes are not very uncommon anymore, it's easy to implement, so it's more and more used....even CMSs uses them already, CB told me about a CMS-based site he works on which is also using salted hashes per default already.
salted MD5 hashes (if properly used) are are strong defense against cracking via rainbow tables for example....
