Post by skip »

I'd like to mount my other HDD(ntfs) to kubuntu so i can back up some datas to reformat it so i can try debian but theres an error

Code: Select all

Cannot mount volume.
Unable to mount the volume 'Local drive'.

Unable to mount location
DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
I cant open the terminal either.

Code: Select all

There was an error creating the child process for this terminal

Code: Select all

apt-get install ntfs-3g
without this package you can't mount ntfs partitions, ntfs-3g mounts them even automatically....

I have installed debian etch, but startx says 'command not found'. I'll try to work my way in on this one. Thanks again. :D
