Hosting....

Well i would like to have some infos about opening a hosting site...and i dont want to buy a reseller account from any hosting comp + i have a fast internet connection with 24/7 uptime.But i would like to know ways for securing the server....What to install ? FreeBsd? Fedora RedHat.....

get Debian, it's used a lot on servers.
