graphical Linux server administration tools

Post by bad_brain »

many people (especially beginners) find it very complicated to set up servers like Apache, FTP, Bind, DHCP or Samba because the config has to be done in a textfile.
here you can find graphical interfaces that make it much easier to edit the settings:

enjoy...

well, the big advance compared to webmin is that you can use the tools on your home server and then simply copy the created config files to the online server. ok, of course this can be done with webmin too, but if you only want to configure Apache for example a full webmin install would be an overkill....

A good point indeed, that without to mention the hazard that can be configure webmin for different servers based on the fact that there's no standard, at least not one very popular thus a configuration on debian might fail for centos and so on...

Of course, every distribution has its own package which, in theory, should be enough to setup without problem for the intended distribution but that's theory, in reallity they all fail :P
