Simple math questions

Post by Ghostface_Killah »

Say you were to write the answer out without using a calculator, how would you get the answers to these questions?

1     3
_ + _ = ?

4     7

3 & 1   4
      _ -  _   = ?
     5     8

If John has 50$ and Mark has 666$ what percentage of money does John have compared to Mark? (How did you get the answer?)

4 & 8 -9 & 7
        _  *   _ = ?
      10      12

if 8y = 6*(3+32x) what does y =? (Please explain how you got the answer)

These are not my school home work questions, I promise lol

Just need to re-up my math skillz and would like to see how the math questions are done. Thanks in advance.

Even if they were, you could ask your questions here, maybe on another thread :roll:

1 3
_ + _ = ?

4 7

Make a common denominator
( (7*1)+(3*4))/28= (7+12)/28= 19/28

3 & 1 4
_ - _ = ?
5 8

4 & 8 -9 & 7
_ * _ = ?
10 12
These are not clear enough... :?

If John has 50$ and Mark has 666$ what percentage of money does John have compared to Mark? (How did you get the answer?)

Answer:

assume that 666 ---> 100
50 ---> X
Where X is the percentage of money,
By using the cross multiplication theory:
X=(50*100)/666= got get ur calculator :P

if 8y = 6*(3+32x) what does y =? (Please explain how you got the answer)

y=((6*3)/8 ) + ((6*32*x)/8 )= (18/8 ) + ((192*x)/8 )

I hope that I gave you the answers you want.

Thanks Moudy, so the proper way to put fractions then online should be 1/2 + 1/4 = ? sorry i was trying to space then out so it looked like

1
_
2

instead. So the equations in the parenthesis are the ones that should be calculated first? I will read more on common denominators thanks
