ignore my last post, here is what i found off the website "Limited operating system support: The Windows version works best with WinXP. It does not support Win98, some people have reported success with Win2000 but many have been unsuccessful with it and Vista is not supported. There is some evidence that a few people have aircrack-ng working under Vista but most people report failures. So basically, your best chance of success is under WinXP."

that is correct WinXP is the better OS for wardriving right now.

I live distro of linux can be loaded with aircrack-ng with little worry about needing to choose linux over windows.

A good distro that has USB bootablility and all the required modules for wardriving, while still maintaining a windows look and feel is SLAX... very nice distro inDEED

What I do want to mention though, is that it's kind of a pointless search unless your wireless adapter supports the aircrack-ng suite... keep us in the loop =)

why dont you use backtrack3 as i did powerful and affective no need to install anything everything is already there just need few commands and done!

if you just want one of the available features you can save a lot of space by building your own custom module with the SLAX module builder.

yeah thanks guys, i dont have a compatible wirless device for most things,
im thinking of building a computer for linux and xp only but dont have a job at the moment, got a baby due in 9 weeks and only running on mobile broadband so its not even good enough for watching porn let alone learning how to be a hacker lol.
thanks for your help anyway guys, think all i can do at the moment is do a lot of research for a while but im only young so still got quite a few years to get good enough to join the guys who prefurmed the attack on the austrialins lol
