Interview questions

Post by JohnB »

What are some good questions to ask at the end of a job interview?

So far I have:

What is the experience of the people I'm working with?
How much training will I be given?
Is there an opportunity for career progression?

Many Thanks

There are quite a lot to ask at the end of an interview and is your point to find out more about the company. Go to the interview with the frame of mind that you are interviewing them and not the other way round. Ask open ended questions so they can't answer with a yes or a no and never ask questions about simple information that everyone would know with a little research in to the company.

It would help if I knew what industry you were applying for as each business is different. Please provide some more information and i will try to help you through the process.

It depends on the type of job.

For a software engineer / programmer job I would ask about whether they use version control software and their stance on free software. That should tell you quite a bit about the company.

Job description summary is :

Code: Select all

Management of the on-line services; website and e-procurement sites
Primary point of data entry for the website.
It's for a company that provides both services (such as analysis/tests) and diagnostic tools.

Open ended questions are a great idea. I guess in the OP I could rephrase one of the questions to " Where could I see myself after 5 years in this job".
