Post by bad_brain »

allright, when you've entered the wargames site you'll find a forum under development, basic functionality is already given. this forum belongs to my evil twin Good_Brain (thanks for this gogeta  ).
so, target is to take-over the forum by logging in as admin.
when you've made it follow the displayed instruction to proof your success.
developer of this wargame is gogeta70!

Lol, yeah, i'm coding all the challenges myself, so people can't just go and look up how to beat the challenge. I'm almost done with both challenges 2 and three, so be ready!

Hey what about this:

After the wargame ends. Someone posts the solution.
Then the wargame could be up some days more. So the the guys that haven't unterstood the wargame could look what the right solution was.

:D

Nha... IMO it would be better to Show some information when the user pass it so he trully know what he did. Else it could spoil the game

Yeah, i don't have the time, and really don't want to have to come up with several ideas and code the challenges. I'm probably gonna code 8-10 challenges and be done.

What about if you delete lets say All the members on the wargame #1 after a week or so ( except the first 5 or 6 or whatever...) So it won't eat to much db memory ?

well, I'll setup a Hall of Fame for the people which successfully done the challenges. at the moment the server is offline anyway because new hardware has been installed and there is a connectivity problem, but it should be fixed soon.... then I'll setup the hall of fame, it'll take some weeks anyway until everything is working properly, I also want to publish excerpts from the logs then..

admins

Post by DNR »

BTW, I guess admins will be excluded from the wargames?
Since I porked wargame #1 like last week. I might suggest that admins _can be_ bribed with money (have CC ready) to assist n00bs in the wargame - of course the money would be pooled for suck-o server upgrades..

When the wargames get less easy. This sounds, good if its not too expensively. :P

umm...yeah DNR, staff members are kinda excluded, but maybe we can run a staff-internal challenge, even with prizes:
first prize would be a Porsche 911 turbo! (first prize if not the site owner: instant ban plus a free incoming pingflood for 1 month)....
but i like the idea of bribery, we need money for my Porsche...oops, for "server upgrades" I meant... 8)

btw, I'll start a sticky with the list of people who successfully finished a challenge, just until we have an official "hall of fame"-thing...
