Hey bad_brain.
Light painting? :o What did you use as the painting tool?
And, did you paint on glass or in the air?

I used a tiny led flashlight and painted "into the air", the effect is caused by the long exposure time of the picture (10 sec. in my case).... :D

here's another one, used the blinking LEDs on the back of my bike helmet :

What actually causes this effect of long exposure of the picture?

Is there anything else, or it's just the LED flashlight? :?
How do you capture the pictures :?:

you can use any light source, every light looks different on the pic then... :D

um, how do I explain it...when you take a normal picture with the camera it makes "click" and the lens opens for a split second, if you hold a light you simply see it as a dot.
when you open the lens longer you can move the light around while the pic is taken, and moving the light causes that effect. you can see that I was moving while the pic was taken, that's why I am looking blurred.

here's an example where you see what I mean, the lens was opened 20 seconds and I moved my cellphone around, the slower I was moving it the brighter the line, and sometimes I stopped moving it for 1-2 seconds:

Yap yah yah. I got it. According to the link:
http://www.thecoolist.com/light-graffit ... otography/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It is about slowing down the speed of the shutter of the camera, and painting the
picture before the shutter closes.
Did you do it likewise?
Oops; the old type of cameras employ photographic plates or films. Digital cameras
use a memory to capture the picture.
Which type of camera did you use?

yep, that's exactly how I did it...:)
it works with all cameras as long as you can set the shutter time manually, I have a Casio Exilim EX-V7, which is a digital camera and nothing really special...

Wow

Missed this posting for some reason, but yea my wifes grandfather is an old school photographer and told me about this. He sets his shutter speed so that the exposure stays open longer and paints with light. I have tried it but it did not turn out as good as BBs. :-s I need more practice.
