I was wondering if anyone has done or is doing or is going to do any volunteering online? What do you think about it and do you recommend any online volunteering opportunities?

you know how to run a forum, you could lend your skills to a forum that supports something you like. I use my writing skills, posting skills, and of course troll killing skills to help other forums get more organized and discipline.
Otherwise, I am not sure of any long term online tasks that could be long term volunteer.
