How to deal with Debt Collectors.

Post by computathug »

Today i said i would take over some administration process seen as it was to do with one of our websites and will detail it here so you guys can follow. I am posting it in this section as it has become something of a hobby of mine has studying the law.

So what has happened has a company called Business Directory listings called a friend of mine a few years ago then tried upping the price of a website so he withdrew any contract but they continued to hassle.

Here is what i have so far.

Code: Select all

Ok, from what I can remember I was called a few years ago with someone
setting up a website, If this is them I agreed to pay around £90, from what
I can remember I called them after a few weeks and was told that the girl
had miss advised me and it was for something else, I told them to withdraw
all services and put it down to experience, probably about 12 months later I
was then called by them asking for the rest of the payment which they said I
owed, I told them again I did not want any product from them, the calls
stopped for a while and then the last few months I have been pestered every
week regarding a payment of £394 witch was being chased up by a debt company
from Manchester, they have now said they will settle for the amount in the
e-mail £200+vat, I said I would look into it and make a decision by the end
of the month, I will foreword you the name of the debt company,

Regards,

Martyn
Well here is how to deal with these debt companies, i will post as i go along and you guys can sit back and enjoy the show. After they receive my first letter and i have to reply again i will be stating that by contract they have just entered by replying now comes down to me placing my costs of £20,000 per hour. Watch and learn about contract law, it will be slightly different in each country, you will have to do your own research.
