5_4_3_2_1 And lift –off a space shuttle Discovery, beginning
America’s new journey to the Moon, Mars and beyond.
Space Shuttle Discovery launches from
NASA Kennedy Space Center Launch Pad 39A
on mission STS-124.
But these space shuttles never went any further than the
outskirts of the Earth’s atmosphere. They were grounded.
Now they are souvenirs.
Could it be that development of better technology for traveling
to space is going on?
The technology of rocket propulsion was developed by Germans
during World War II for transporting war heads onto targets, but
was later adapted to space travel by Americans and Russians, a
transport means so risky for humans!
About the development of better technology, I think it is still
primitive for an aircraft to lift-off or land while running,
(Aeroplane).

Re: America's Space Shuttles
The successor to the shuttlecraft is Dragon developed by one of two of my most favorite companies, SpaceX, ran by my biggest idol in life, a real-life Tony Star -Elon Musk. (the other one being Tesla Motors, also ran by Elon).
They already docked successfully at the ISS with Dragon powered by Falcon9 rocket. Now they're developing a rocket called Falcon Heavy (and yes, the name came from Millennium Falcon) , which will be the biggest rocket in the world, it can lift more than the old Saturn V moon rocket. It could probably even fly all the way to Mars. And putting humans on Mars is Elon's mission. Seriously read about this guy, he's amazing, I want to have his babies

Re: America's Space Shuttles
Americans introduced Space Shuttles to cut the cost they used to incur with Rockets,
because a space shuttle could be used over and over again. If Americans are developing
more rockets, then this is a step back!
Still, a rocket is a real furnace; a risky means of transport and polluter, primitive for
future space travel. I have a feeling that rocket propulsion is not the successful solution
for space travel.
There is a claim that Germans already landed a saucer(UFO) on Mars in 1945.

Meaning you're a lady, or you mean something else by babies? Just curious. You reason like a guy!ph0bYx wrote: ... putting humans on Mars is Elon's mission. Seriously read about this guy, he's amazing, I want to have his babies

I am a male human specimen. It was a joke to try and illustrate how much I love this guy.

Just came across this article yesterday:

It's about time they start making some cool engines.

traveling a reasonable fraction of your journey.

Imagine setting out for a journey, but you become old and perish before evenAlthough exciting, the primary challenges associated with any interstellar mission relate to the distances involved. Voyager 1, launched in 1977, is the furthest manmade object from Earth, and travels at over 10 miles per second (36,000 mph). Even traveling at this incredible speed, it would take just over 70,000 years to reach the closest star to our solar system.
Recently, NASA began developing Solar Probe plus, which will study our own sun. Through a series of seven gravitational assists with the planet Venus, the probe will reach the extraordinary speed of 125 miles per second. This is a full seven times faster than Voyager 1, which would allow it to make a trip to another star (if that were its objective) in 6,450 years.
While this would still be an incredible accomplishment, no propulsion technology currently in existence has the capability to fly to another solar system on timescales comparable to a human lifetime.

Re: America's Space Shuttles
Respect has nothing to do with it. If all the factors are calculated in the equation then it all should go the way it's suppose to.
And if more efforts are put in space exploration we would go a long way. More money is invested in cosmetics these days than in space exploration. As long as people are so focused on revenue and power, the road to the future will be long, slow and painful.

Re: America's Space Shuttles
My my my!
ph0bYx; do you know of any equation one can use to counter earthquake,
or hurricanes, or tsumanis?
What about an equation of exorcism? Ghost busters' style, eh?
Have you heard of the tower of Babel ? Some guys used effort in an attempt to reach
God by building a tower, but ended up becoming insane.

I'm sorry but I don't quite understand your reply. Respect or not, those natural occurrences will always occur.
I don't understand how exorcism fits into this topic.
And I agree, grown men that believe they can reach God with a tower are insane.

The reply is about underestimating Nature. Not always, but there are times Man tendsph0bYx wrote:I'm sorry but I don't quite understand your reply. Respect or not, those natural occurrences will always occur.

to underestimate it. And I gave examples which show the power of nature. Those are
physical examples, but there are also hidden mysteries.
Respect;
If you're interested in someone's daughter, do you just grab her by the ear and take?
Respect is about coming into terms.
Man discovered that he requires oxygen for breathing. Also discovered that burning
requires oxygen. In turn this helped him to go to space, in addition to the technology.
Oxygen gas in particular would seem irrelevant especially for the space vehicle, but
was the key!
Another example: ph0bYx, you can't let a five-year-old see you naked, can you?
This five-year-old has to qualify by age through time. The point is not time, but
qualifying. If this little one insists at this tender age (effort), it will be appalling!
