I really love it when such bike enthusiasts do "weird" things like that...

Re: "how fast can a bike go?"
yeah...what I like the most about it is that he isn't doing it to break records and without having huge sponsors. he's simply a true biking weirdo...
Re: "how fast can a bike go?"
Awesome
Hope he beats his record on the strip next time.

Re: "how fast can a bike go?"
to be honest I thought about getting one too....with the modern technique it can be a LOT of fun, not just "pedaling alone in your living room". the Tacx VR models for example can be plugged in to a computer, you can load maps (the map topology with climbs, etc. is emulated then by the roller), and you can also meet online with others and race with them video game style on the monitor or TV screen....like "hey, let's do Tour de France day 9!":JohnB wrote:I want some rollers now...

Re: "how fast can a bike go?"
would be really cool....and it's not as expensive anymore, I have seen it in my usual online bike shop for 600 €....
Re: "how fast can a bike go?"
We should both get one would be good training for shitty winter days. What would you need to have it set up perfectly?

Re: "how fast can a bike go?"
all you actually need is a bike and a special rear tire (about 30-40 bucks)...the tire is some kind of semi-slick which fits perfect to the roll.
oh, and the rear wheel should be attached to the bike with standard skewers (metal axle you push through the hub)...if in doubt simply post a pic of the rear wheel and I can tell you if it fits...
