So im trying to get on irc with xchat on knoppix. And i have the server fatalh.sytes.net and the channel to join is #suck-o but its not getting past looking up fatalh.sytes.net any one have any ideas on what the problem could be

while looking up does it show you the ip address in brackets??? if it doesnt show then the problem is with DNS part...

actually what i meant was that the problem can be with dynamic dns service which gogeta is using.. maybe the records are not updated or something like that...

At the time ilkjester posted, bad brain, nerdz, and i were all on irc talking. But i have been having a little bit of trouble with my dns lately, but i had it renewed.

yeah the browser works and everythign I think its just that i configured it wrong or something ill try to figure it out when i get home today

hm, are you familiar with the procedure to register a steady channel there? at the very beginning of suck-o I checked for that, but I don't remember anything....(only something with "10 users have to register" but I can be wrong about that)...

could you retrieve some info? at the moment I'm too busy to check it out, also I'm minimizing my online-time a little in order to save money until my DSL connection is up...
