Wireless interception
Wireless interception
Been awhile since I've been on here but I'm curious about localized interception of sms, data, and calls. Is it possible, and if so how, to be in close proximity of someone and similar to arp-injection, interecept and recieve the targets calls etc. Not talking about cloning. Live ease dropping on them. I hope my question was concise enough.

Re: Wireless interception
it definitely IS possible. I have seen a report about privacy and data sniffing a while ago, and there a secret service team used a device, while sitting in their car, that acted as relay antenna...and every phone within reach connected automatically to it because they labeled it as nearest relay.
I am not enough into phreaking to be able to tell you how exactly it works, but you will surely need an antenna that covers the proper frequencies, a sender, and get into the needed protocols.......shouldn't be much different from the usual WLAN or Bluetooth stuff.
there might be software, like pre-configured Linux distros, for that purpose, you might want to have a look at Asterisk for example. been a while since I played with it, but in the meantime it obviously been packed with new features: http://www.asterisk.org/get-started" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Phone hacking has been common with smart phones via blue tooth.
Not heard of any cases affecting ordinary multimedia phones with blue tooth.
But before smart phones and multimedia phones; I heard of a case where one would
receive a message, if opened, would lose all data: Contacts and text messages.

I think the earlier cases affected old iPhones, there are some newer cases though where there are still exploits via txt message:Hiram wrote:I heard of a case where one would
