Yes you are basically purchasing the company name and since the cheaper of the two is a lesser known business it remains cheaper. There looks to be no difference in performance you would just be paying a higher price for a know name brand. I would get the cheaper Ram…
well, they are maybe different in the timing (it's not remarked on the pqi ones).....but even then it's not worth to pay the extra money for the expensive ones... if you're not working with 3d rendering or stuff like this all day long the performance plus would be not remarkable anyway.....
Performance RAM is not worth the extra cash....unless you're looking for bragging rights.
I'd go with the cheaper RAM. If you keep getting BSODs and random hard locks, you can always RMA the RAM. Just make sure to do it within the time permitted or you'll be stuck with non-working parts (from experience).
Thanks guys once I buy this ram ill have 2 gigs in my new computer and ill put the left over 512 in my old computer along with my 40 gig hard drive and ill probally b asking for help in installing linux and seting up the server.
