We use something called "protected zones", which means that anyone who joins can get their own private space to build in, which in turn means that only the owner of that space has write access to building there (and anyone in the allow list of the space), but people can still go there and visit it.

I just started a minecraft server for me and some friends. This game is pretty fun I like it 
Gogeta was telling me about it last year. I thought nah that's stupid but its actually quite good
