iPhone 4 here but activation??

I got myself actually my dad an iPhone 4 and it arrived today. Now the thing is that it's not activated yet, I have gevey sim and all the stuff but I am stuck at this screen and don't know what to do with it...

Ols need urgent and fast help waited for this thing like ages now and my daddy is loosing his patience. Anyone guys pls tell me what to and how to do

But from the looks of it, it either wants a PIN-code, or it wants you to connect it to a PC/MAC.

I have connected it to the PC but the same in iTunes it still says

"There is no SIM card inserted pls disconnect and activate the iPhone"

I have tried the local SIM but it's not working either??

Is it a brand new phone?
No jailbreak or any other hacks on it?

That's strange ... because according to my "findings" (friend of mine told me), this error is mostly common when the phone has been jailbroken and it failed.
My friend told me that when he got his phone, all he did was to insert the SIM-card into the phone, then he downloaded iTunes and then he connected the phone to the computer, and then iTunes basically did everything for him automatically.

Tried doing that, in that order?

Done and failed sir m almost in tears cause it cost me too much to be left alone 670 USD ( ( ( man... what now??? Still stuck on the same screen. Should I try to jail break it again???

Is it jailbroken or not?
you have to give me a clear answer on that, because it makes a huge difference.
If you try to hack it and risk bricking it, then I have to change my approach completely in finding a solution for you.
