I wanna buy a HTC mobile, but it's coming with T-mobile SIM contract. What's that means?
Do I have to unlock it when I buy? Coz im importing it from US.
Also, can any1 explain what this contract means???

Re: Mobile Contract help
I assume this means whoever bought the phone had a contract for use of the t-mobile services and this contract will then be passed on to you
Which means you will get a monthly bill for using Verizon Phone services with this phone *shrugs

Re: Mobile Contract help
well, I doubt he will get the SIM card with it....and even if he does he will most likely not be able to use it because it's not his contract (if he can use it he will have to pay long distance fees with every call because he's not in the USA).
so basically this means there is a SIM-lock so the phone is bundled with a provider (t-mobile), if you don't have a t-mobile SIM card you will have to unlock the phone.
I am sure there are howtos out there, I bought all my Nokia phones bundled (because it's cheaper than an unlocked phone), unlocked them and used a cheaper provider then...

What model is the HTC phone you want. I have unlocked quite a few phones in the last 2 years, they arent hard to do depending on the phone itself and the software available

This is a bit of an old post, but there are secondary providers (Google "t-mobile htc [model] unlock code" ) you can buy unlock codes from. When I was in the US I operated a t-mobile HTC phone, and unlocked it to run on AT&T network. I have since brought it back to Canada with me, and now it operates fine on the Rogers network - aside from this network being absolute shit. Also, make sure you upgrade the firmware. The t-mobile firmware is set to send an SMS home periodically (Something to do with their my-5 plan) and I had to find out that hard way when it drained a $50 pre-paid card when I got home. (Txting international every 5 minutes until it drained it). Good luck.
