Interprocessor Communication

Post by ph0bYx »

Greetings gentlemen! Happy New Year!

Let me get to the point right away. I have this paper to write on interprocessor communication. Of course I'm doing my due diligence on Google but I'd appreciate it if you could take a quick look in your pdf libraries to see if you have anything related to it in there, and eventually send me those :D
Also if you have any tips or pointers about this topic I'd appreciate that also.

On a personal note, I know I haven't been much active here in a while. I do check out the boards multiple times per day but I just don't have any inspiration for writing. I'm kinda stuck in the process of rediscovering myself for some time now.

Hey Ph0b, I checked EBSCohost and come up with some articles... they seemed really advanced to me though (lots of equations for interprocessor communication)

So I guess I'm wondering if that is the kind of information you are looking for... and if so I'll pdf them and send em your way.

I'd love to take a look at them. I'm not *quite* sure what exactly I have to write on, have to consult my professor about it which will all be part of the grading. So I'm currently in the information gathering process.

Code: Select all

had some good information on the types of IPC.
where do you want me to send the PDF, PM me if it's an email addy :)

I'll PM you my email. Thanks a bunch!

inter-process would be so much more logical considering your education IMO. You should ask your teacher about it ;)

I've talked to my professor and he said that interprocessor == interprocess which will make my life much easier =)

Oh well, they do have some similarities ](*,)

A process and a processor are completely different things. Anyway, you can ignore those books I sent you then xD

Forgive me but I am confused by what it is that you are asking? Is it the communication of processors as individuals communicate to other individuals? Or is it a multi-core processor that communicates to its other cores? They are piratically similar yet totally different imo.

I have engineered circuits or employed both of the mentioned. So I am curious.

I'm not quite sure as of yet, I will have to go through all the material my professor gave me (and being a heavy procrastinator that ain't gonna happen soon :D). I will keep you posted though.
Thanks guys for all the help! I appreciate it!

OK I think I got a better grasp of the task now. It's suppose to be about the communication of individual processors in a distributed system.

A final update: I made a little typo mistake in the name of the paper, it's suppose to be 'interprocess communication'. A little mistake but makes a huge difference. My professor gave me a book to use as a guideline. It's basically about the ISO reference model and it's layers and a little bit about Asynchronous Transfer Mode network. I've already finished the paper successfully, but thanks for all your help guys, I really appreciate it! <3

TOPIC LOCKED for obvious reasons.
