Re: fetlife.com privacy disaster
the screen only changes on the link dark blue with brown letters. I just highlighted it and could read it. When I clicked to return to the forum it was quite readable for a second.
If I am not mistaken does not Facebook and my space have a similar policy that what ever you post automatically becomes theirs or they have the right to use it in the way that see fit.

@lonewolf
could you post a screenshot of that, and what browser are you using? I've tested this now with Chrome, FF and IE 7/8/9 and it looks fine for me (the usual "black on lightblue bg")
@ph0
right ph0, but FB got their asses sued over it already in 2010, and a few weeks ago the lawsuit ended:
http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/a ... _data.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
btw, the article is now on the first page when googling for "fetlife privacy"...

Re: fetlife.com privacy disaster
That's about friend finder or something. The bigger issue here is the intellectual property term which is quite ridiculous if you ask me. But anyhow, this isn't a topic about Facebook, I was just confirming lonewolf on FB's fucked up terms of use.

Re: fetlife.com privacy disaster
yeah, but it also affected the way they handle user submitted content:
The case also dealt with ownership of personal data uploaded to the social network. If a user uploads a photo or original music, Facebook gets the rights to this data, and can use it for other purposes than intended by the user, Küßner said. Control over this data should remain with the user, the VZBV said. The judge agreed, ruling that Facebook's use of personal content was also a violation of data protection laws. Facebook may use these works only with the consent of users.

Oh. I missed that part, thanks for pointing out!
Re: fetlife.com privacy disaster
lol nice ^^
Tried any bogus input on their site when being logged in?
Who knows, maybe you'll find something interesting
Don't have an account so couldn't check (and too lazy to create one right now).
But I do admit that the +1 million users in that database sounds yummy.

not yet, just did a quick input sanitization check for regular posts, and there seems to be a filter...not sure about the filter rules yet but I'll have a closer look.
good thing is they suffer from a nice mix of megalomania and lazyness, so I didn't even had to spend time with fingerprinting because they look for volunteers to work for free (on a commercial site)...maybe I'll apply
